2 Minute ReadVT COSMETICS's Iconic Reedle Shot range: non-intrusive micro-needling from the comfort of your home
Reedle Shot promises clinic-level results from your bathroom sink, and the formula delivers. But the range is genuinely confusing, and most people end up using their first bottle wrong. This guide does two things: helps you pick the right strength for your skin, and walks you through how to actually use it for results that show up.
You have probably landed here for one of two reasons. Either you already own a Reedle Shot and you are not 100% sure when in your routine to apply it, how often, or what is normal to feel. Or you are considering buying one and you are stuck between the 50, 100, 300, and 700 with no real sense of what each strength actually does differently.
Both questions deserve real answers. We will start with the decision (which one is right for you), then move into the practical detail (where in your routine it goes, what it feels like, when you will see results, what to combine it with, what to avoid). Skip to whichever section you need.
what reedle shot actually is
Reedle Shot is not really microneedling, despite the name. There are no metal needles. The active mechanism is something VT calls Cica Reedles, which are microscopic spicules made from hydrolysed marine sponge silica and coated in a soothing centella complex. When you press the serum into your skin, these spicules form tiny channels in the very top layer of the epidermis (the stratum corneum). That triggers a controlled regeneration response and allows whatever you apply next to penetrate further than it normally would.
The spicules do not get absorbed into your skin. They sit on the surface and shed naturally with your skin's healing cycle over the next two to three days. The range comes in four core strengths, distinguished by how many Cica Reedles are packed into the formula. The more spicules, the more intensive the treatment, and the less often you should use it.

how to actually use it
where in your routine
First step after cleansing, on completely dry skin. After exfoliating pads if you use them. Follow with serums, moisturiser, then SPF. Skip the neck.
what it feels like
A prickling sensation lasting 10 seconds to a minute, depending on the strength. Normal, and a sign the spicules are doing their job on the surface.
when you will see results
Softer texture by morning if your skin responds. Otherwise, give it 1 to 2 weeks. The 100 has clinical data: 31% smaller pore length and 38% fewer visible pores in 14 days.
what to pair it with
Anything, technically. Avoid high-percentage acids in the same routine on sensitive skin, and skip beauty devices on the same evening. Safe over active acne, but patch-test first.
the supporting cast
Two things worth pairing with your Reedle Shot routine.
The 2-Step Mask sachets (50, 100, 300) combine a single-use Reedle Shot sachet with VT's Reedle Synergy Sheet Mask. They are the easiest way to sample a strength before committing to a full bottle, and they double as the calming step for evenings when your skin needs extra TLC after a stronger treatment.
SPF the morning after. Microneedling-style treatments accelerate skin turnover, which means fresh skin is exposed to UV. SPF is non-negotiable the day after any Reedle Shot use, especially the 300 and 700. See our Korean SPF Edit for the formulas we recommend.
frequently asked questions
How often should I use Reedle Shot 50, 100, 300, and 700?
It depends on the strength. Reedle Shot 50 is gentle enough for daily morning and evening use. Reedle Shot 100 is used once a day in the evening. Reedle Shot 300 is used every third evening (roughly twice a week). Reedle Shot 700 is the weekly intensive, used just once a week.
What does VT Reedle Shot feel like on the skin?
Most users describe a prickling sensation lasting between 10 seconds and one minute, depending on the strength. The 50 is the mildest, the 700 the most pronounced. You may feel a lighter tingle again when applying subsequent skincare steps. The sensation is normal and indicates the spicules are working on the surface of the skin.
Can I use VT Reedle Shot with active acne?
Yes, the formula is non-comedogenic and will not clog pores. However, the prickling sensation can feel uncomfortable over inflamed spots. Patch-test a small amount on your cheekbone and wait 24 hours before applying across the whole face, especially if you have active breakouts.
Can I use VT Reedle Shot with retinol, AHAs, or BHAs?
Yes, there is no ingredient incompatibility. The practical advice is to avoid layering Reedle Shot with high-percentage exfoliating acids (AHA above 10% or BHA above 2%) in the same routine if your skin is sensitive. Alternating evenings is the safest approach.
When will I see results from VT Reedle Shot?
Some users notice softer, smoother skin the morning after first use. Most see visible texture and pore improvements within two weeks of consistent use. Clinical data on Reedle Shot 100 specifically shows a 31% reduction in vertical pore length and 38% reduction in visible pore count over a two-week period.
Where in my routine should I apply VT Reedle Shot?
Apply Reedle Shot as the first skincare step after cleansing, when your skin is completely dry. If you use exfoliating toner pads, apply those first and then the Reedle Shot. Follow with the rest of your routine: serums, moisturiser, and (in the morning) SPF.
