If you do not know your skin type - click here to find out!
normal skin

Having normal skin means you don’t have any excessive skin conditions. Your skin feels and is neutral, but you could experience some shine at the end of a long day.

Characteristics

  • Fine pores
  • Does not feel too dry or too oily
  • Generally blemish-free
  • Not prone to sensitivity

Tips:

  • Focus on prevention (antioxidant, SPF, Vitamin C)
  • Follow a basic skincare regime – do not put unnecessary products on your face (this might clog pores)

dry skin

It’s important not to confuse dry skin with dehydrated skin. Dry skin is a lack of natural oils in the skin, making the skin feel tight and dry if not aided by skincare products. Dehydrated skin is the result of a lack of water in the skin and is a temporary condition often caused by exposure to a variety of factors such as weather, cosmetic products, lifestyle, hard water etc.

Characteristics:

  • Tight feeling of skin all year long (note: dehydrated skin is temporary)
  • Tiny pores
  • Appearance of fine lines

Tips:

  • Moisturising is key, best to use richer creams that focus on this.
  • Invest in sheet mask or overnight masks
  • Avoid prolonged water immersion (showers included!), especially in chlorinated, hard, and/or hot water. This strips your skin’s natural oils.
  • Avoid vigorous foam cleansers, or alcohol and sulfate based products

combination skin
The combo one is hard to satisfy, it’s like your skin has opposite personalities! It is therefore important to find products that are not too heavy but can retain and push in lots of moisture into the skin where it is needed.

Characteristics:

  • An oily T zone (forehead, chin and nose)
  • Larger pores, especially on the nose
  • Cheeks can be dry

Tips:

  • Look for light-weight yet hydrating formulas
  • Invest in a balancing toner
  • Sheet masks hydrate your skin – replenishing moisture to areas of dryness and hydrating oily areas.

oily skin

Caused by excessive sebum (oily substance) production by sebaceous glands in the face, often due to genetics or hormones. This oftentimes leaves pores congested and clogged, which is why oily skin-types are more prone to acne and blackheads. (on the plus side, the oily ones will look younger in the long run as it has more nature moisture and less prone to wrinkles!)

Characteristics:

  • Enlarged, visible pores
  • Shiny complexion
  • Prone to blackheads/whiteheads and acne

Tips:

  • Rebalance your skin with oils, avoid products that eliminate all ail and strip your face dry
  • Go for a lighter serum and moisturiser, preferably oil-free occlusive
  • Hydrate using a sheet mask! Your skin will produce more sebum (oil) if it is dehydrated.
  • Try lightly exfoliating once or twice a week (over exfoliating can lead to a hypersecretion of oil!)

Hey. I just wanted to ask why this wonderful brand is not sold internationally. I would have loved to order it, i reside in South Africa. It’s just a bummer i guess.
